Busy Week for Columbus

While our Fremont store is getting their facelift on, the peeps here in Columbus are busy putting out the new items for Halloween and getting ready for a busy weekend.

We were lucky enough to be a part of the 48 hr film festival July 28-30th. There were over 40 teams this year working on their short films for the festival. The rules were, you came in Friday night at 7 and picked your genre. Then you had until Sunday at 7 to finish your movie complete with sound. We ended up getting Horror which was awesome since the director already knew he wanted to do a zombie theme. It was meant to be! They spent the rest of the night writing a script, thinking about what scenes they want and wrote a break down timeline for the next day of shooting. We were there bright and early on set to help get everyone looking like zombies! When we were finished we had about 30 awesomely dead looking zombies. They shot footage for the rest of the afternoon and into the evening and then went right back to headquarters to edit everything together. They made the submission on time on Sunday and we couldn’t wait until Saturday when the screenings started. I haven’t seen the official film yet, but I am excited to see how it turned out! Screenings are being held again this week on Tuesday and Wednesday at 6:30 & 8:30 at the Arena Grand Movie Theatre.  The 48 hr film fest is defiantly something that you should think about doing if you are interested in film. It’s really fun and you get to meet so many great people!

This weekend is the Columbus Arts Ball. We will be there supporting this great charity event. This will be the second year we have teamed up with the Columbus Arts Ball. Their event proceeds always go to charity. Each year there is a different charity and this year’s event will be for the Autism Society of Central Ohio. Stop by soon and grab your mask and your entry tickets before the event!
